On November 23, 2025, Minneapolis police responded to a call reporting an assault in progress at 805 15 Ave Southeast in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, officers made contact with an individual referred to herein as the victim. The victim appeared to be crying and had visible red marks on her neck. The victim reported the following: She has been in a sexual/romantic relationship with DYLAN GREYDEN LESTERSON [DOB REDACTED] for several months. LESTERSON had been at her apartment earlier that day.
They had been discussing the victim taking LESTERSON to Duluth for his upcoming birthday. The victim [NAME REDACTED], seemingly out of nowhere, LESTERSON began to assault her. The victim recounted to officers how LESTERSON grabbed her throat with both of his hands and squeezed. She described difficulty breathing and that LESTERSON then squeezed harder. The Victim fought back and kicked LESTERSON off. She described it taking nearly all her strength and her having thought "this is it." After getting free, the victim [NAME REDACTED] in her apartment and called 911. The victim believes the defendant left her apartment after having heard the victim on the line with a dispatcher.
When asked about previous conduct, the victim [NAME REDACTED] had made comments about wanting to harm her before, but the victim believed those comments to lack sincerity. Several days later, Minneapolis Police were notified that Edina Police had located a car belonging to LESTERSON at a movie theater. Upon LESTERSON's return to his vehicle, he was arrested in relation to this incident. At the time of charging, LESTERSON remains in custody.
