Notice: Pursuant to Minnesota Rule of Criminal Procedure 7.02, the prosecution provides notice that, at trial, the State will offer evidence of the following offenses, in addition to the offense herein charged, for the purpose of proving the motive, intent, preparation, plan, and identity of the perpetrator. 62-CR-25-7020 On 09/19/2025 DANIELSON was arrested driving a 2015 Lexus that had been stolen earlier in the day. DANIELSON then unsuccessfully fled from police when they tried to stop the vehicle.
Once captured, DANIELSON was Mirandized and said he saw the vehicle on the side of the road, saw its keys on the seat, and stole it because his feet hurt from walking. This case is still active. Current offense: On 11/17/2026 at 21:36 hours, St. Paul Police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul, Ramsey County for a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle’s owner, TCO, said that at about 20:29 hours, he parked his 2016 Chevy Silverado (MN/JHB798) at 4th St and Market St in St. Paul, Ramsey County.
A spare key had been left in the cupholder. TCO said he discovered that the truck was missing at about 21:10 hours. The value of the vehicle exceeded $5,000. TCO was able to track the truck via GPS and TCO was providing dispatch updates on its location. Based upon the updates, police quickly spotted the truck driving near Charles Ave and Albert St. They blocked it in using a vehicle containment technique (V. C. T) and conducted a felony stop. The driver threw the vehicle’s spare key out of the window.
He was then identified as Tyler William DANIELSON ([DOB REDACTED]). The passengers were identified as NCC, BRM, and JGB. Each admitted that DANIELSON was driving the vehicle and said he had picked them up. After being Mirandized, DANIELSON said he was at Dorothy Day when a friend named "Sam" from Dorothy Day let him the borrow the truck. DANIELSON claimed he had ingested fentanyl and was transported to Regions Hospital. Once medically cleared, he was transported to the LEC. Police reviewed CCTV footage that showed TCO parking the truck near the St. Paul Hotel.
The footage showed that at 20:42 hours, the truck left its parking space and turned west on 4th St from Market. Numerous CCTV cameras captured the truck driving around downtown, including one that showed DANIELSON driving it at 20:51 hours; about 8 minutes after it was stolen. For purposes of Rule 6.02, DANIELSON has an active Auto Theft case (62-CR-25-7020).
