On November 23, 2025, a Richfield Police Department Officer was on routine patrol in the area of 77th Street and Nicollet Avenue South when the officer's attention was drawn to a silver Hyundai Sonata in front of the officer. The Sonata's license plate was hanging down and the license plate light was not operable. The registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver's license. The Sonata was stopped. The officer identified the driver of the Sonata as Demarion Jaques Majors [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein.
The officer observed the faint odor of marijuana emitting from the Sonata. Defendant's driving status returned as revoked and Defendant was found to have a misdemeanor sign and release warrant for driving after cancellation. Defendant also presented the officer with an insurance card for which the policy came back as not existing. Defendant has multiple prior convictions since April 2023 for failing to produce vehicle insurance. In a search of the vehicle, a backpack was located on the passenger side floorboard.
The backpack was found to contain THC cartridge(s), rolling papers, and loose marijuana. Two ziplock baggies of marijuana were also located, weighing 10.33 grams and 11.59 grams. Two suitcases were located in the trunk of the vehicle. Each suitcase contained approximately 25 airtight sealed bags of marijuana, each weighing approximately 450 grams per bag. A portion of this quantity field tested positive for marijuana. The total weight of these airtight sealed bags of marijuana was approximately 22,500 grams, which equates to approximately 50 pounds.
