HUNT said he stayed in the room to care for the child. HUNT acknowledged hearing the police knocking on the door but said he did not want to answer because he was caring for the child [NAME REDACTED]. During his statement, HUNT repeatedly said things like, “She is a crazy bitch,” and, “I hope she goes to the psych ward.” HUNT said he believes the infant child [NAME REDACTED] is not 100% sure. At the Roseville Police Department, HUNT was given another Miranda advisory by the investigator and provided another statement.
HUNT said that he and his fiancée, CMW, took the baby to an appointment then stopped at the liquor store before going home. HUNT said he was asleep on the couch that evening when he woke up to CMW yelling at him and smacking him in the face. HUNT reported that he tried to restrain CMW’s arms and prevent her from hurting him. HUNT said they ended up in the kitchen where CMW punched him in the nose.
HUNT admitted that he was “irate” but said he was trying to talk sense to her but angrily. HUNT said that he stopped CMW from leaving and told her, “Let’s make sense of this.” Shortly thereafter, HUNT stated that CMW fled the apartment. HUNT said CMW is prescribed anxiety medication, and she blacks out when she consumes alcohol while taking her medication. HUNT denied strangling CMW and said everything he did was in self-defense. HUNT admitted yelling at CMW and getting angry during the altercation, but he maintained that he did not intentionally hurt CMW and that her injuries were caused by him holding her.
