At around 7:00 PM on March 4, 2026, officers responded to a call about an assault that had occurred in an apartment at [ADDRESS REDACTED] 8 North, Roseville, Ramsey County. Officers spoke to OL [DOB REDACTED] who said he had allowed WENDELL TERRELL BROWN [DOB REDACTED] stay in his apartment for the past 4 days. Brown had an AR-15 with the stock and barrel sawed off. The AR-15 had been painted with yellow, gold, and green paint to make it look like a toy. Brown repeatedly pointed the gun at OL, and he repeatedly threatened to kill OL. Brown told OL he knew where OL’s family lived.
OL feared Brown was going to kill him. OL said he thought about jumping out of his fourth-floor apartment to get away from Brown. OL managed to escape saying he was going to the gas station to get something to drink for Brown and himself. Officers went to OL’s apartment and made announcements for Brown to come out. Brown stuck his head out the door and retreated back into OL’s apartment. SWAT responded and negotiators convinced Brown to come out of the apartment. Officer obtained a search warrant for OL’s apartment.
Officers recovered a.22 caliber AR platform firearm from the bathroom cabinet beneath the sink. The firearm was painted to appear like a toy, and its serial number was unreadable. Brown was advised of his constitutional rights and agreed to speak to police. Brown said he and Love had a disagreement over music they were creating. Brown denied knowledge of a firearm inside the apartment, and he denied pointing it at OL. Brown has prior felony convictions for threats of violence, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, possession of a pistol by a felon, VOCSL 4, and a federal gun conviction.
The threats of violence and drug convictions make Brown ineligible to possess firearms or ammunition.
