In court file 27-CR-12-9598, LASHAWN RONDELL DYER, [DOB REDACTED], was convicted of Simple Robbery, stay of imposition 609.135 and imposition of sentence was duly stayed 05/09/2012, expiration of sentence 05/09/2015, probation for three years. In Report of Probation Officer and Order Suspending Imposition of Sentence Permanently and Restoring Civil Rights dated 5/22/2015, the stay of imposition was made permanent and DYER was ordered per 609.165 and 624.713 that he is not entitled to ship, transport, possess, or receive a firearm for the remainder of defendant’s life.
The conviction is listed as misdemeanor. DYER is prohibited from possessing firearms. On April 7, 2026, at approximately 11:21 A.M., Saint Paul Police responded to the 200 block of Edmund Avenue on a weapons complaint. NC told officers there has been an ongoing dispute between her family and their neighbors. A vehicle stopped in front of 2XX Edmund and multiple residents exited and started yelling at people outside. Her brother, MSA, was outside. MSA and a resident of 2XX Edmund were arguing. A male went outside, waved around a firearm, and pointed it at MSA. Officers viewed video and saw DYER remove a firearm from his right sweatshirt pocket and wave it around in the direction of MSA. DYER took a few steps back toward the sidewalk with the firearm in his hand.
DYER pointed the firearm at the ground, racked the slide, chambering a round of ammunition. DYER exited the residence after his mother called him, and was taken into custody. While he was being placed in the back seat of the squad car, he told his mother that the firearm was “in his room under the mattress.” Officers obtained a search warrant to search [ADDRESS REDACTED]. Officers found a black Smith & Wesson 40 with a mounted laser attachment in DYER’s bedroom under the sheets and pillows. There was a live round in the chamber, and a magazine with ten live rounds.
The serial number appeared to be scratched off and only the N was visible. After a Miranda advisory, DYER spoke to an investigator. He said the neighbors have been antagonizing and bothering them, but they have been trying to keep it cool. The issues include people parking in their driveway, partying outside their house, smoking weed, and drinking. They have asked the neighbors to stop the behavior. The neighbors became mad and an argument followed. After the argument, he thought it was done. On April 7th, it happened again.
They went out and asked the neighbors not to pull up. Someone from the neighbor’s house hit their car. When they pulled back up, the neighbor’s car blocked their (DYER’s) driveway. They went outside and told the neighbors they were blocking their driveway. People were screaming and a male neighbor said, “I’ll stab you up.” DYER said, “I was not trying to hurt nobody, scare him, maybe, yeah, but when like he made the threat.” DYER said the male continued to say, “I’ll stab you up.” When asked what he did, DYER said, “I did what I did…. I had my gun in my hand.
