On May 25, 2026, at approximately 10:57 AM, Officer Woltman and Officer Sillers with the Rochester Police Department responded to a theft reported at a residence located in Northeast Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota. Upon their arrival, they met with an adult female, fully identified in police reports (hereinafter “Victim”), who stated MARIO DALE RODRIQUEZ, [DOB REDACTED], had broken into her home that morning. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had their joint children the night before, but they did not make arrangements for a parenting time exchange that morning.
Rodriquez attempted to drop off the children at school, but upon learning they did not have school, contacted Victim [NAME REDACTED] was going to bring the children to her home. Victim [NAME REDACTED], and she advised Rodriquez that she was approximately 40 minutes away. While on her way home, Victim received a call from Rodriquez, during which he asked her for her wifi password. Rodriquez told Victim [NAME REDACTED] inside her residence. He also stated the doors were locked so he had to get creative.
When Victim [NAME REDACTED], she asked to check Rodriquez's vehicle, as she suspected he removed items from her home. She saw in the back seat of his vehicle pictures and picture frames that belonged to Victim. She advised Officer Woltman that Rodriquez also stole other items including a speaker, a laptop, a soundbar, tools, an iPad, and other miscellaneous items. Victim stated that while Rodriquez used to live with her, he had been removed from the lease in January 2026, and he was aware he was not permitted to be in her home.
Victim showed Officer Woltman a video she recorded upon her arrival home. In the video, her son stated that Rodriguez “busted the window open.” As the video continued, Victim asked Rodriquez if he took anything from her home, and he claimed he only took his property. Victim’s photographs were visible in the backseat. Officer Sillers looked at the bathroom window where Rodriquez gained entry into Victim’s home. The screen was on the side of the deck, not in the window, and he observed a small tear in the corner.
He also saw the window to the left of the bathroom window had a bent frame as though Rodriquez had attempted to use that window for entry first. Officer Woltman located Rodriquez, who claimed Victim gave him permission to enter her home. Rodriquez admitted to taking the picture frames but stated he returned them to Victim. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
