On May 15, 2025, at approximately 10:56 P.M., officers of the Austin Police Department responded to 1101 4" Street SW in the City of Austin, County of Mower, on a report of a firearms complaint. The reporting party advised that there was a man at the house, later identified as GLENNIS TYRONE LENOIR, DOB/021368, the defendant herein, who was drunk and in possession of a firearm with a laser. Officers arrived at the residence and contacted the reporting party, A.M. S. (an adult female). Lt. Hartman observed A.M. S. To be frazzled and appeared scared.
A.M. S. Stated that the defendant was in the house with a gun and the defendant is her boyfriend's, R. A. R., brother. A.M. S. Advised officers that the defendant had a black handgun with a laser on it and she last saw it in the kitchen area. A.M. S. Stated that they were hanging out at her house and the defendant reached into his front waistband and pulled out the gun, stating "check this out." A.M. S. Stated that she repeatedly told the defendant to put the gun away. A.M. S. Stated that R. A. R. Then went into the kitchen area and returned without it.
A.M. S. Stated that she is the only one who lives at the residence and gave officers permission to search her home. While speaking with A.M. S., the defendant exited the front door. A.M. S. Informed officers that he was the male with the gun. Officers placed the defendant in custody and did not locate a firearm on him. Officer McCormack observed the defendant to be moderately intoxicated as he had unsteady balance, slurred speech, and smelled of alcoholic beverages. McCormack also observed him to be wearing a blue and orange Chicago Bears sweatshirt and Chicago Bears shoes.
Officer McCormack read the defendant the Miranda warning. The defendant advised that he understood and agreed to speak with the officer. The defendant advised that R. A. R. Is his brother and that R. A. R. Brought him to Austin to A.M. S.'s house. The defendant stated that he was not sure how long he had been there. McCormack asked the defendant if he had any property at the house and he stated that he had a bag with his medications and a hat. The defendant then gave officers permission to search his bag.
Officers did not locate anything inside the bag. The defendant repeatedly stated that he did not have anything and denied having a gun. When Officer McCormack asked the defendant if at any point, he made mention of having a gun that could have alarmed A.M. S., the defendant responded, "I said something. | said if had my s&*t | wouldn't be here." The defendant was unable to explain what that meant by that statement. At that time, officers were walking around the east side of the residence towards the garage searching for the firearm.
The defendant had a clear view of the officers and as they neared the garage, the defendant made several utterances, repeating, "they found it," "they found it." When Officer McCormack asked the defendant what they found, the defendant replied, "dope," but then would not respond to further requests for Clarification. During the search of the residence, law enforcement located a Smith And Wesson M&P Bodyguard 380 handgun with a built-in laser. The gun was located on the east side of the residence between the house and AC unit next to Cca Chicago Bears hat.
