On February 16, 2026, Ofc. Hagen of the Rochester Police Department was dispatched to Coyote Creek Outdoors Gun Shop regarding a disorderly conduct situation. Employees reported that a party had come in and rented firearms, purchased ammunition, and shot at the range. All four of the individuals provided driver's licenses including Adolph Donta Valentine ([DOB REDACTED]), Defendant herein. Witness- an employee at Coyote Creek, observed that everyone in the party was handling firearms and shooting at the range.
After Defendant had finished some shooting, his target fell off the cardboard holder on the range. Defendant demanded staff to retrieve his target so he could take some photos with it. Staff was not willing to shut down the entire range and offered him a new target. Defendant began screaming and swearing at staff. Staff called the police, but all four individuals left prior to law enforcement arrival. Witness realized that he may have recognized Defendant from prior contacts and realized that Defendant was a felon.
Det. Hulshizer obtained records from the transactions at Coyote Creek and saw Defendant had paid rental fees for two pistols and purchased ammunition. Coyote Creek provided video of Defendant shooting at the range while wearing a neon green construction-like jacket and a white stocking cap with the Chicago White Sox logo on it. Detectives began investigating where Defendant was residing. Through records investigation and surveillance, detectives found a couple potential addresses for Defendant including #213 at Sutton Place Apartments and [ADDRESS REDACTED]. SW. Defendant was observed going in and out of the building containing #213 at Sutton Place.
Det. Hulshizer was granted a search warrant to look for Defendant's credit card from the transaction and his clothing from the incident at the Sutton Place Apartment. On March 3, 2026, Det. Hulshizer and other officers executed the warrant. Defendant was located in the residence and placed under arrest. Within the residence, officers observed paper shooting targets from Coyote Creek with "Lord" (a known alias for Defendant) written on it. Det. Loken found the White Sox stocking hat and neon green zip-up sweatshirt.
While searching for the credit card and shoes Sgt. Pankratz seized a Taurus 9mm pistol. Det. Matos also found a bag containing multiple plastic baggies containing a white powder and white rock substances, colorful pills inside of another plastic bag, a scissors, card, multiple digital scales, rubber bands, a white powder cutting agent, and $1,000 cash. The white powdery substance field-tested positive for cocaine and weighed 79 grams. The cocaine was packaged in amounts approximating an ounce per bag which is consistent with sales.
The pills (10), field-tested positive for amphetamine. 3 ••-CR-••-•••• Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 3/5/2026 Det. Hulshizer also obtained a warrant for the Willow Ridge Drive address. There Det. Matos found a Ruger pistol chambered in 9mm. Det. Hulshizer took a statement from a female within the residence who said Defendant has clothes and property at the residence and has a key to the residence. The woman denied that the firearm was hers. Defendant has a number of felony convictions that make him ineligible to possess firearms including 1st Degree Sale ••-CR-••-••••.
