On May 25, 2026, officers were dispatched to an apartment building located in New Hope, Hennepin County, Minnesota, based on a report of an assault with a knife. Officers arrived and located an adult male, identified herein as Victim, speaking in the hallway with a female, identified as LEEANN NICOLE BIER- LANGSTROM [DOB REDACTED]. Victim provided officers with a knife that he stated Victim [NAME REDACTED], which he had taken away from Victim. Officers separated the parties and spoke to Victim. Victim [NAME REDACTED] is a cleaner that works for a third- party company.
He was cleaning an apartment and had to go into the hallway to plug in his vacuum. When he was done plugging it in, he turned around and saw BIER-LANGSTROM, who had a knife in her hand. BIER-LANGSTROM thrust the knife toward Victim's abdomen. He was able to grab her wrist, then grab the blade of the knife to prevent BIER-LANGSTROM from stabbing him. The knife punctured his palm as he did this, and officers observed the puncture wound on his hand. When he took the knife, BIER- LANGSTROM ran out into the parking lot and returned a few minutes later with her boyfriend.
BIER- LANGSTROM was screaming and running down the hallway, which Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Police arrived a short time later. Officers also spoke to BIER-LANGSTROM's boyfriend, who stated that she is currently struggling with alcoholism. He was not present during the altercation with Victim. On scene, BIER-LANGSTROM denied having a knife or screaming down the hallway. She then admitted to running after a kid and his dog in the hallway, because she had previously called police to complain about the dog defecating on her patio.
BIER-LANGSTROM was arrested and later provided a statement after being advised of her constitutional rights. She stated that she was upset that afternoon because her upstairs neighbors had allowed their dog to defecate on or near her patio. She claimed to confront her neighbors about this in the hallway. She denied threatening Victim with a knife or ever having a knife. BIER-LANGSTROM also denied going outside after the incident. When the officer showed BIER-LANGSTROM a still photo that Victim took of her and her boyfriend outside in the parking lot, she claimed that this was taken earlier before her boyfriend left for work.
