Upon arrival, Officer Rydberg spoke with the Manager, L. F., who stated that on February 11, 2026, a tenant, D. J., had reported a missing package from the mailroom. L. F. Had reviewed the surveillance video and observed a female, ELLA LEE BURMEISTER, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, enter the mailroom on February 11, 2026, and take three packages. The defendant was familiar to staff because she was previously going to live at Fairway Ridge Estates. She was not a current tenant. Officer Rydberg spoke to D. J. By phone, who said he had ordered a black IHAYNER mini backpack, valued at $30.00, for his girlfriend for Valentine’s Day.
D. J. Had received photo confirmation that Amazon had delivered the package on February 11, 2026, at 3:55pm. The photo showed a clear package that clearly contained a mini backpack. The package was addressed to him at his address and apartment number. D. J. Reported that when he got home from work that evening, the package was gone. He spoke with his girlfriend also and she had not taken it. A review of the surveillance footage showed the Amazon driver deliver the package at 3:55pm on February 11, 2026. At 4:06pm, the defendant entered the mailroom and over the course of a couple minutes, appeared to review all mail inboxes and packages that were present.
The defendant picked up the clear plastic package containing the mini backpack, addressed and delivered to D. J. She also selected two other packages. The defendant left the mailroom at 4:08pm with the three packages. The defendant exited the building and left in her vehicle. It is unknown who the other two packages belonged to. Fairway Ridge Estates requested the defendant be trespassed from the property. Officer Rydberg left two voicemails requesting the defendant to contact him and did not hear back.
Officer Rydberg mailed a letter on February 23, 2026, asking her to contact him. He included the Trespass Notice as requested by Fairway Ridge Estates. He left another voicemail on March 9, 2026. The defendant never returned the calls. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
