On or about September 11, 2025, at approximately 6:55am, an officer with the Princeton Police Department was dispatched to the Bremer Bank location located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Princeton, which is within Mille Lacs County, on a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer located a vehicle bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED], hereinafter “the vehicle.” The officer observed that there were two occupants in the vehicle, who were later identified as B. E. M., an adult male fully identified in police reports, and Morgan Riley Nelson [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter, “Defendant.” The officer parked in the Bremer Bank parking lot, conducted a driver’s side approach and made contact with Defendant and B. E. M. B. E. M. Became argumentative upon the officer’s arrival, and both B. E. M. And Defendant were asked to provide identification.
Defendant provided the officer with her full name and date of birth. At this time Defendant was seated in the driver’s seat and B. E. M. Was seated in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The officer subsequently determined that Defendant had an active felony warrant out of Clay County and Defendant was subsequently placed under arrest and secured in the back of the officer’s squad vehicle. After Defendant was secured in the squad vehicle B. E. M. Attempted to flee the scene. He was apprehended and detained by law enforcement shortly thereafter.
From B. E. M. The following pieces of evidence were obtained: 1). A.25 caliber Hawes Firearms Company handgun bearing serial #130838; 2). Six rounds of live ammunition; 3). A bag containing a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, the contents of which weighed 68.27 grams; and 4). A plastic bag containing suspected marijuana weighing 3.42 grams with packaging. Another officer spoke with Defendant at the Princeton Police Department. After being given a Miranda warning, Defendant told the officer that the previous day she had gone to her father’s home in Milaca after the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office executed a warrant there and located methamphetamine, a pipe, a scale, items she described as “rigs,” all of which she placed into a dark blue backpack, which was currently in the vehicle.
She also stated that there was a lockbox in the vehicle that contained marijuana. Defendant also stated that she had driven the vehicle to Bremer Bank that morning to meet B. E. M. And sell him $40 worth of marijuana. She reported that this transaction had taken place, and $40 was recovered from Defendant’s person by law enforcement. Later in the day on September 11, 2025, a search warrant for the vehicle was applied for and approved. On September 12, 2025, multiple law enforcement officers conducted a search of the vehicle.
