On May 10, 2026, at approximately 1:00 P.M., Deputy Mikla was working contracted overtime at Walmart, [ADDRESS REDACTED] E E, Vadnais Heights, County of Ramsey, when he was notified of a theft that occurred at approximately 10:17 A.M. Loss Prevention Staff Pace advised of a crime where suspects impersonate Spark drivers, a third-party delivery company similar to DoorDash. At approximately 10:17 A.M., a Black male (Suspect #1)-short haircut, mustache, neck tattoo, approximately late twenties-thirties years of age, about 5’9”, average build, wearing light blue hooded sweatshirt with “Spider” in white across the chest, gray sweatpants, and white yeezy foam runner shoes with black markings along the sole-entered the store and walked directly to the electronics counter.
The male displayed his phone to the staff members and showed a fake order in the app and impersonated a Spark driver. The employee escorted the male to the locked cases, opened the cases, and gave the suspect two Nintendo Switches, and an Xbox X. The male went to the front of the store, bypassed all points of sale, went into the parking lot, walked through the north part of the parking lot, and entered the Blaze Bank parking lot. The total value of the items stolen by Suspect #1 is $1, 296.00. At approximately 10:26 A.M., a Black male (Suspect #2) entered Vadnais Heights Walmart, walked directly to the electronics department, displayed his phone to the staff members and impersonated a Spark driver.
The Walmart employee escorted the suspect to the locked cases, opened the cases, and gave the Suspect #2 an Oculus Quest and PlayStation 5. Suspect #2 walked to the front of the store, bypassed all points of sale, exited into the parking lot, walked through the north of the parking lot, and entered the Blaze Bank parking lot. The total value of the items stolen by Suspect #2 is $1, 248.00. Both suspects entered a gray/siler SUV in the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot. Suspect #1 was identified as a suspect in an Eden Prairie Walmart-identified as JOSIAH DOUGLAS TREADWELL-SAUNDERS, [DOB REDACTED]. Deputy Mikla viewed TREADWELL-SAUNDERS Michigan photo identification card and concluded he matched the image from the Vadnais Heights Walmart theft, Suspect #1. After a Miranda advisory, Investigator Patsy interviewed TREADWELL-SAUNDERS at the Hennepin County Jail on May 11. 2026. TREADWELL-SAUNDERS said he is an employee of UPS in Detroit, Michigan.
TREADWELL-SAUNDERS denied being in the Vadnais Heights Walmart earlier in the day. When shown a screenshot of a male with items inside the Walmart, he agreed it was him. He said he left the Vadnais Heights Walmart with merchandise, but did not know what city he was in. TREADWELL- SAUNDERS admitted he was the driver of the Mercedes vehicle. He would not identify the male who was with him. TREADWELL-SAUNDERS is in custody in another county.
