GROSS manages payroll and reimbursements, though the money is dispersed through a payroll company. Wharton found out through his payroll company that there were some odd changes that GROSS had made to his earnings and reimbursements. GROSS's base salary was $70,000. GROSS started changing his salary in 2023. GROSS's salary changed from $70,000 in 2023 to $50,698.20 and then to $30,000 in 2024. At the time of this report, there had been nine pay periods in 2023 and GROSS's salary should have been paid out for a total of $24,230.79, but GROSS had paid himself $10,384.65. In each year, GROSS had increased him reimbursements as follows: -In 2023: $60,861.79 -In 2024: $175,679.48 -In 2025 (first nine pay periods): $38,185.33 This resulted in a cumulative overpayment over those three years of $203,585.46. GROSS has not provided receipts to offset those reimbursements.
GROSS admitted to Wharton's attorney to taking the money. GROSS said he altered his salary because three years ago his ex-wife started seeking alimony. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
