On or about March 27, 2025, Bloomington police responded to string of incidents involving a group of three individuals. First, between 4:00 and 4:30 P.M., Bloomington police responded to a theft of a cellphone from Great Wolf Lodge located in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The victim, [NAME REDACTED], left his cellphone, a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, on a table unattended. Surveillance shows a person later identified as ISMAEL MICHAEL CUJI [DOB REDACTED] AKA WILLIAM ALEXANDER PAREDES-MUNOZ [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, taking the cellphone without permission of Victim [NAME REDACTED] The phone is valued at approximately $1,299.00. Then, at approximately 4:46pm, Bloomington police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED] South in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota, where a car alarm was going off in a Hyundai vehicle and it appeared that it was attempted to be stolen due to damage to the column.
There is no surveillance of this. Then, a few minutes later, Bloomington police responded to a similar incident located at 8718 19th Avenue South in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Another Hyundai was broken into with similar damage to it. Finally, at 5:05 P.M., Bloomington police responded to 2001 86 1/2 Street for a call involving three younger males breaking a window of a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and trying to enter it and start it as there was damage to the ignition column. This was recorded on camera.
The suspects were interrupted and fled the scene and located near IHOP standing around near another Hyundai vehicle that appeared they were trying to enter as well. At this time, Defendant was arrested here and identified and found to have the cellphone from the first incident in his possession. Police were able to confirm and watch surveillance to show Defendant steal the cellphone. Defendant was also present for the incident located at 86 1/2 Street. The group would have been able to leave the Great Wolf Lodge after stealing the cell phone, walk southbound on Old Cedar Ave South to [ADDRESS REDACTED] South and attempt to steal a vehicle, then walk over the Highway 77 pedestrian bridge and attempt to steal a car (damage to window only) at 8718 19th Avenue South, then attempt to steal another vehicle at 2001 86 1/2th Street East, then flee to the IHOP parking lot, all within the listed and reported times of these incidents.
Defendant is not in custody for this offense.
