On January 27, 2026 at approximately 1547 hours Trooper Zavala was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 14 near West Circle Drive when a blue SUV bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] caught her attention. The vehicle was traveling in the right lane and as Trooper Zavala was aside the vehicle about to pass it the vehicle suddenly crossed over the center line into the squad's lane about to hit the squad car. Trooper Zavala slowed to move out of the way. Trooper Zavala then accelerated to try to see if the driver was distracted or using a cell phone but did not notice a cell phone.
Trooper Zavala then merged behind the vehicle and the vehicle continued to weave within its lane. Trooper Zavala activated her emergency light to make a stop and the vehicle was slow to stop but eventually pulled over onto the right shoulder and stopped. Trooper made contact with the driver and advised her of the reason for the stop and asked her if there was a reason that she was weaving in her lane. The driver stated that she was talking with her kids in the car. The driver provided an identification card that identified her as AMBER MARIE MYHRE, [DOB REDACTED], and stated that she did not have her driver license with her.
Trooper Zavala checked her information which revealed that she had a restriction on her drivers license of any use of alcohol or drugs invalidates license, as well as a requirement for ignition interlock. Trooper Zavala confirmed those restriction with Myhre, who nodded her head up and down and stated that "it's in my car, I'm locked out right now because I unscrewed it too early to thaw out or whatever." Trooper Zavala asked Myhre if she understood that she was not supposed to drive a vehicle without the interlock and that it was an arrestable offense.
Myhre nodded her head up and down and said "mhm." Due to Myhre violating her restriction of ignition interlock the trooper requested a PBT. Myhre agreed to provide a sample and when asked if she had anything to drink she stated "no." The PBT revealed an alcohol concentration of.09. Myhre then admitted to having one drink earlier in the day, stating that she drank Fireball, "just a small one." Based upon the ignition interlock violation, admitted use of alcohol, and PBT result Trooper Zavala arrested Myhre.
There were two kids in the vehicle ages 2 and 11. At the ADC Myhre was read the breath test advisory and chose not to speak with an attorney. She agreed to a breath test, and the Datamaster revealed an alcohol concentration of.08 at 1706 hours.
