Due to the timing of events of the domestic involving Connor Janisch, the burglary occurring around the same time, with the location of both events be close by and the suspect shoe prints originating from the direction of the domestic, he is a likely suspect in the burglary. On 4/25/25, Deputy Olson assisted Detective Jeremy Bautch with executing a search warrant to obtain a buccal swab from Connor Alan Janisch, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the defendant, who was at that time in the Wright County Jail.
Dep. Olson collected the swab using a BCA supplied known sample kit, and submitted the buccal swabs along with the evidence swabs to the Midwest Regional lab for DNA analysis. 2 86-CR-25-7261 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 12/9/2025 On 7/24/25, Wright County Sgt. Lund was contacted by Olmsted County Deputy Sammon, who advised that the stolen Studebaker from this case had been recovered near the address of 2106 75th NE in Rochester, MN. The vehicle was unoccupied and parked in a grassy field.
Dep. Sammon was told the vehicle was abandoned there around 1/26/25, and no one has seen anyone coming or going from it since. The vehicle does not appear to be damaged in any way, but the keys were not located. A cigarette butt and a gas can were located inside the vehicle and collected as evidence. Deputy Olson responded to the scene of the recovered Studebaker for forensic processing. Using 2 sterile cotton swabs and distilled water the steering wheel and inside door handle were swabbed for possible DNA evidence.
On 7/28/25, the swabs were sent to the Midwest Regional Forensic Lab for analysis. On 11/13/2025 Dep. Olson received a report from the Midwest Regional Forensic Lab with DNA results from previously submitted evidence. The swabs from the light switch and door handle latch contained a mixture of two or more individuals.
