On November 10, 2025, at approximately 2:00 A.M., uniformed officers from the Plymouth Police Department were patrolling an underground storage garage facility at an apartment complex at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota, due to a string of recent burglaries at the address. They had observed a photograph of Jose Sarmiento Miranda Jr., hereafter defendant, as a possible suspect in the burglaries. While in the garage, officers saw a green Subaru's headlights drive slowly in the garage and park into a space.
A uniformed officer approached the car on foot and flashed a light at the driver and recognized him to be the defendant. The defendant then sped away from the officer as the officer ran after the car on foot. The car had a suspected stolen rear license plate only; the plate and description of the car were communicated to other agencies. Minutes later, the pursuit was picked up by a St. Louis Park marked squad car. In the vicinity of Cedar Ave and Texas Ave in St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota, multiple squad cars from St. Louis Park PD with lights activated attempted a box in maneuver on the defendant.
The defendant drove the Subaru directly into one of the squad cars causing extensive damage. The defendant sped away, and the pursuit was terminated. The defendant is currently in custody on unrelated cases.
