Your Complainant, of the North Mankato Police Department, has reviewed the reports in this matter and states upon further information, investigation, and belief as follows: At all times mentioned herein, Eric Michael Dorman, 8/10/77, hereafter referred to as Defendant, has been required to register as a predatory offender according to the requirements of Minn. Stat. 243.166. On October 31, 2025, North Mankato Police Investigator VonBerge noted that the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) had issued an alert indicating that Defendant was not compliant with his predatory offender registration requirement.
Inv. VonBerge reviewed the alert and noted that it stated on September 19, 2025 the BCA had sent Defendant a yearly predatory offender verification letter and that it had been returned to sender. Inv. VonBerge went to Defendant’s last registered address, which is located in the City of North Mankato, County of Nicollet, State of Minnesota. Inv. VonBerge made contact with the occupant of that residence and confirmed that Defendant no longer lived there. The current resident, who was identified as Witness 1, explained that he had been living at the residence since July 4, 2025, and that Defendant had moved out a few days before he took possession of the residence.
Witness 1 explained that Defendant was still receiving mail at the residence and that he had unsuccessfully tried to contact Defendant by phone to forward the mail to him. Witness 1 explained that he believes Defendant no longer lives in the greater Mankato area. Inv. VonBerge obtained further documentation from the BCA and noted that Defendant had previously updated his address with the BCA on a yearly basis. However, he had been out of compliance since at least September 19, 2025. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTE SECTION 609.49.
