On October 30, 2025, at approximately 8:56 pm Officer John McGuire of Mankato Department Public Safety responded to a suspicious person call made by Witness 1 at 7:37 pm. Witness 1 in Mankato located in Blue Earth County reported an unknown female later identified as Ogud approached the patio entrance making odd requests and refusing to leave. Witness 1 also reported that Ogud was not making sense as she asked for a ride to “her headquarters.” Witness provided law enforcement with a description of the suspicious person Ogud.
Witness 1 indicated Ogud could be in another apartment in the complex upstairs as they believed that Ogud was looking for the resident of that apartment. Officer’s Casilla and McGuire knocked on the door of the apartment witness believed Ogud to be in and a female matching the description given by Witness 1 answered the door. Ogud had indicia of being under the influence. Ogud was resistant to identifying herself to Police and refused to come into the hallway. Ogud stated she did not live there. Ogud was unable to tell officers the name of who lived in the apartment, or a description.
Officers believed Ogud was inside the apartment unlawfully. Ogud would not identify herself and demonstrated other concerning behaviors. Ogud was handcuffed and found in her purse was a Minnesota ID that identified her as Bobotbayto Mark Ogud ([DOB REDACTED]). Officer Casillas spoke via telephone with the actual resident of apartment. Resident 1 stated Ogud had not been given permission to be in her apartment, and she did not know anyone named Botobayto Ogud. Ogud repeatedly tried to stand up and kicked in the direction of officers.
She continued to retrieve her purse, and rolling on the ground in hallway. Officers warned Ogud to stop kicking numerous times, to stop trying to slip her handcuffs, and stop trying to stand. Ogud continued these behaviors and additionally would go limp to avoid being moved. While Officers were trying to load Ogud into a squad vehicle for transport, Ogud continued her aggression against law enforcement by putting her head against Officer Casillas’s head and was bearing down against the Officer. After further non-compliance the “Wrap” restraint system was applied.
Law Enforcement requested MCHS Ambulance respond to evaluate Ogud and conduct a fit for confinement evaluation. Ogud was transported by ambulance with Officer Casillas in the ambulance due to Ogud’s level of uncooperativeness.
