On January 1, 2026, officers conducting surveillance in the area of the bus stop at Hennepin and Lagoon in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, observed a male in a black jacket with white sleeves and a cross-body bag, and a second male wearing a dark grey jacket with white shoes carrying a brown bag. The first male, who was later identified as MOHAMED ABDULLAHI ALI, [DOB REDACTED], DEFENDANT ALI herein, appeared to be manipulating a bindle and pouring a substance in the second male's possession, who was later identified as AAREUM EDDIE SHERROD-LYMON, DEFENDANT SHERROD-LYMON herein.
Officers detained DEFENDANT ALI in handcuffs and observed tin foil, a straw and a cylindrical container visible in DEFENDANT ALI's right pocket. In a search incident to arrest, officers recovered a plastic baggie with white crystal-like substance that weighed 2.05 grams and field tested positive for meth, purple powder that weighed.26 grams and field tested positive for fentanyl, and six blue fentanyl pills. Officers determined that DEFENDANT SHERROD-LYMON had outstanding warrants. In a search incident to arrest, officers recovered a small amount of cash, drug paraphernalia, one bindle of purple powdery substance and a eye glass case with two bindles of white powdery substance.
The powdery substance field tested positive for fentanyl and weighed 2.07 and 3.49 grams. The DEFENDANTS are currently in custody.
