55 A.M. This morning he received an alert that “MyQ” had entered their code to the front door of A&A Towing. David said no one should have been at the business at that time. He said the only person that had the “MyQ” code is the Defendant and that particular code is linked to the Defendant’s email. David told Officer Plumski that the Defendant had been an employee at A&A Towing about 6 months ago until he quit showing up for work, which resulted in his termination. David said he watched the surveillance video and saw the individual who entered A&A Towing pull up in a silver Dodge Dakota and he recognized it because it was an impound vehicle he had sold to the Defendant.
David said the video also shows an individual, who he recognized as the Defendant, walk directly to the cash drawer and grab all the bills. David told Officer Plumski that he had not deposited anything yesterday, so there was a large amount of cash totaling $3,623.00 in the drawer. David said that the Defendant did not have permission to be inside A&A Towing and did not have permission to take money from the cash drawer. David showed the video to Officer Plumski and the suspect matches a known photograph of the Defendant.
On January 30, 2026, Officer Plumski met with David Ebnet again about the incident. David said that there was a Viking Bank debit card and an Eagle Bank debit card in the cash drawer that the Defendant also took during the Burglary. He said he received his bank statement form the A&A Towing Viking Bank debit card and it was used at 3 locations in Alexandria on January 29, 2026. David said it was used at Walmart in Alexandria in the amount of $395.10, at Holiday/Circle K on 50th Avenue in Alexandria in the amount of $62.67 and at Holiday/Circle K on Hwy 29 South in Alexandria in the amount of $29.24. David said the Eagle Bank debit card was used in Sauk Centre, Minnesota and he was talking with the Sauk Centre police department about that.
Officer Plumski went to Walmart in Alexandria and spoke with management. Employees at Walmart were able to pull up the transaction in which A&A Towing’s Viking Bank card was used. Officer Plumski looked at the security video footage of the transaction and the individual that used the card matched the description of the Defendant. The Defendant was recently arrested in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and also has an active warrant from Pope County, Minnesota for a 3rd degree Burglary, which also occurred on January 29.2026. Consequently, a warrant for his arrest is respectfully requested.
