All of the conduct described herein occurred within the County of St. Louis, State of Minnesota, unless otherwise noted. On November 6, 2025, at approximately 2:05 AM, Duluth Police Officer Wilkins was on patrol near the Super 8 Motel located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota when he noticed a pickup truck with its topper hatch open with something leaned up against the back of the truck on the driver’s side. Officer Wilkins drove towards the front entrance of Super 8 and observed two males run from the rear of the pickup truck eastbound on Superior Street.
Officer Wilkins lost sight of one of the males, but tracked down the other male who had a bright orange backpack on. This male was later identified as MICHAEL CONNOR CORDEL HUISINGER, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as the Defendant. Officer Wilkins activated the emergency lights and sirens on his squad car and drove towards the Defendant, but the Defendant continued to run southbound towards I-35. Officer Wilkins exited his squad car and gave the Defendant commands that he was under arrest and to stop, but the Defendant did not stop, and Officer Wilkins chased after the Defendant on foot across I-35. The Defendant eventually fell to the ground, and Officer Wilkins took him into custody.
During a search incident to arrest, Officer Wilkins removed a fixed blade knife on the Defendant’s hip, a screwdriver was located on the ground next to the Defendant, and there were two sets of bolt cutters inside of the orange backpack. Officer Pederson arrived on scene and observed the pickup truck with the topper open, and items were thrown about inside the vehicle and on the ground outside. The screen located on the driver’s side of the topper on the truck had been cut open, which appeared to be the method of entry before the Defendant and other male attempted to open the topper hatch and tailgate.
Officer Pederson made contact with the truck owner, Kent Anderson, who was staying at the Super 8 and informed him what had happened. He did not observe any items missing at the time. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49, intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
