On March 30, 2026, at approximately 8:18 P.M., police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on a domestic call. Upon arrival, police observed a female, LK, siting in the hallway with two children, and they were all crying. LK was holding her head with blood on her head and hand, and LK had what appeared to be burn marks on her right arm with some skin hanging from her arm. One of the children told police that LK’s boyfriend, later identified as EH KU MOO – [DOB REDACTED], hit her on the head with a stone pepper grinder and burned her arm with boiling water earlier in the day.
MOO was located inside the apartment. LK’s seven year old child, AAN, said LK was burned with boiling water by MOO that morning, but he did not witness it because he was at school. AAN stated that MOO was asleep, and LK tried waking him up to help her cook because her arm was hurting from the burn MOO caused earlier in the day. AAN reported that MOO woke up angry, took a stone grinder from LK, and hit her on the head with it several times. AAN’s six year old sister said she saw MOO hit LK in the head multiple times with the grinder.
After MOO hit LK on the head with the grinder, the children reported that MOO pushed LK out of the apartment. The children knocked on their neighbor’s door to call 911 for help. The children led police to the stone grinder. It was identified as the stone bowl mortar portion of a mortar and pestle. Police observed blood on the mortar and blood on the kitchen floor and walls. At the hospital, police spoke with LK, who said she and MOO have been dating since September 2025. LK reported that MOO is a good man but becomes violent when he drinks alcohol and uses drugs.
LK said that approximately 8:00 that morning, she boiled some water then MOO came and poured the water down the drain. LK asked MOO why he poured her water down the drain and told him to leave some for her. LK stated that MOO got angry and poured what was left inside the pot on LK. LK reported that the water was still hot, and she sustained a burn on her right arm. The officer observed a burned mark and fresh skin peeling off LK’s right arm. LK said she went into another room to separate herself from MOO but did not call police.
LK stated that MOO’s friend called him to drink alcohol, and he went to his friend’s apartment. When MOO returned, LK said he went to sleep. LK reported that her arm was hurting from the burn MOO caused that morning, so she woke him up and asked him to cook for the children. LK said MOO woke up angry and hit her once on the back of the head with a stone grinder. LK felt wetness on her hair and realized her head was bleeding. LK said she felt dizzy but did not lose consciousness. LK reported that her children were crying and scared and kept telling her they were afraid she was going to die.
Following a Miranda advisory and using the assistance of an interpreter, police asked MOO about the incident. MOO’s responses did not make sense, and he would not focus. Police smelled the odor of consumed alcohol on his breath. MOO had a minor laceration on his finger that was evaluated at the hospital before he was booked into jail.
