At approximately 1:35 AM on November 2, 2025, officers Mankato Department of Public Safety were investigating an unrelated suspicious vehicle in Mankato, Blue Earth County. While doing so, officers heard numerous people yelling and a large group of people gathering. Officers went over the area and observed two females fighting. Specifically, one female was wearing a SWAT costume and punching another female in the head. Officer, Rutz pulled the female wearing the costume off the other female. The female resisted Officer Rutz’s commands, including pulling away and forcefully swinging her arms towards officers.

At one point, the female knocked a flash light off the officer. Eventually, with the threat of a Taser, the female was detained. The suspect was identified as Rebecca Nyinenyang, [DOB REDACTED]. Nyinenyang provided a portable breath test was showed a blood alcohol value of.07. Officers obtained a video of the incident. In the video, Nyinenyang is seen actively punching Victim 1 in the head/face.
