On December 18, 2025, Officers from the St. Cloud Police Department were dispatched to a welfare check. H. C. G., an adult female witness fully identified in the police reports, requested police make contact with A.M. G., an adult female victim [NAME REDACTED] in the police reports, as H. C. G. Received photographs of injuries on A.M. G. Caused by Alex Tristan Russell, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. Police met with A.M. G. Who stated her neck hurt and she wanted to be evaluated by medical staff.
A.M. G. Stated she got into an argument with the defendant and stood in front of the door. The defendant wanted to leave and grabbed her by the shoulders aggressively. The defendant got more upset and grabbed her by the neck causing her to not be able to breathe. A.M. G. Stated she does not know what happened but she recalls being on the ground in the bedroom with the defendant laying on top of her. The defendant also punched A. MG. In the leg and upper body. Officers were able to view injuries on A.M. G.'s shoulders.
A.M. G. Stated this is not the first time the defendant has assaulted her and the defendant's behavior has been escalating. Police noted various stages of bruises on A.M. G. Such as a black eye which she initially indicated was from a different incident with defendant. A.M. G. Reported she did not want the defendant to get into trouble or want him charged. A.M. G.'s messages to H. C. G. Were consistent with the information she initially provided to law enforcement. A.M. G. And the defendant are family or household members.
During a Mirandized statement, the defendant stated he was trying to leave the residence and A.M. G. Did not want him to leave. He stated he was trying to push her off. The defendant admitted having A.M. G. By the neck but claimed he was not trying to stop her air. The defendant denied ever hitting A.M. G. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct. The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on or about 18th day of December, 2025, in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
