RYAN MICHAEL HANTON, [DOB REDACTED], is required to register with the Minnesota BCA as a result of a conviction for Depriving Another of Parental Rights, date of conviction 5/31/2024. The offense description included victim was sixteen-year-old runaway who HANTON met on a dating app. HANTON was in possession of cellphone videos of the victim [NAME REDACTED] on him. There were also text messages revealing a sexual encounter. HANTON began registering with the Minnesota BCA on 06/27/2024, end date 06/26/2034. HANTON signed his original BCA POR Registration and Duty to Register Forms on 06/27/2024, received by the Minnesota BCA on 07/09/2024 where he acknowledged his duty to register a primary address and changes; to register secondary address in Minnesota; to return address verification forms within ten days; and if homeless, to complete weekly homeless check-ins.
HANTON acknowledged and signed an additional Duty to Register Form dated 07/30/2025, received by the BCA on 08/15/2025. On 02/25/2026, HANTON was marked non-compliant by the Minnesota BCA. HANTON’s registered primary address with the BCA is [ADDRESS REDACTED], White Bear Lake, Minnesota, 55110, County of Ramsey. HANSON registered this address with a start date 08/21/2024. HANTON did not list a secondary address with the BCA. On 1/26/2026, Sgt. Butchko contacted HANTON by telephone to conduct a registration compliance check- in.
HANTON agreed to meet Sgt. Butchko at the police department on 02/02/2026, but did not appear. For the following two weeks, Sgt. Butchko tried to contact HANTON by telephone, but the calls were not answered. Sgt. Butchko was not able to leave telephone messages because the voice mailbox was full. A probation violation warrant issued for HANTON in case 62-CR-23-63. Sgt. Butchko called HANTON on 02/15/2025 and spoke with him. HANTON apologized for missing the 02/02/2026 check-in. HANTON said he was currently not in White Bear Lake and was staying elsewhere due to his warrant.
HANTON said he did not want to return to jail and was avoiding police contact. HANTON was told he needed to complete his check-in, or he would be non-compliant. HANTON said he did not care. HANTON would not tell Sgt. Butchko his location, and disconnected the telephone call. On 2/20/2026, Officer Fink approached [ADDRESS REDACTED]. HANTON’s son and his significant other, PN were outside of the residence. They said he had not been home in a week. On 2/25/2026, Sgt. Gadbois spoke with SJ, HANTON’s mother, DS. DS said she has not been able to reach HANTON and that she knew he was not residing at his listed address.
SJ said she has also been to HANTON’s residence, and he was not there. There is an active warrant for HANTON in 62-CR-23-63, date of issuance 2/11/26.
