CLARK stated that he was experiencing "dope sickness" and did not want to be arrested. As part of the investigation, Officer Karnes responded to a residence located at 9810 223rd Street North in the city of Forest Lake, which is the address that the Dodge Ram CLARK was initially driving was registered to. Officer Karnes spoke with the homeowners, C. B. And his wife, L. B. C. B. Confirmed that he owned the Dodge Ram and stated it should be parked out in the driveway. Officer Karnes explained the vehicle had been involved in a fleeing incident earlier that day.
C. B. Stated that he and L. B. Parked the truck in the driveway at approximately 8:30 P.M. The previous night and left the keys in a basket in the garage, which is attached to the house. Officer Karnes, C. B., and L. B. Went to the garage and observed that it appeared to have been ransacked, with all of the toolbox drawers open. The service door to the garage showed evidence of forced entry with several marks around the lock. C. B. Stated that he left his crossbow inside the truck as he planned to go hunting that day.
Officer Karnes also located C. B.'s wallet on the garage door, which C. B. Stated had several cards and $100 in cash missing from it. 4 82-CR-25-5059 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 11/24/2025 That same morning, Sergeant Cockburn responded to a residence located at 4660 235th Street North regarding a Chevrolet Silverado that had been abandoned. The homeowner, V. D., stated that she found the vehicle with the door open and called the police for help. Officers determined that the registered owner of the Silverado is R. L., who lives at 4819 235th Street North, which is the residence that CLARK was seen running towards after crashing the Dodge Ram.
R. L. Stated that he had left the keys in the Silverado and it was stolen earlier that day. CLARK remains in custody at the Washington County Jail.
