Complainant, an investigator with the Wayzata Police Department, after reviewing all of the files in this matter, believes the following to be true: On September 23, 2025, at approximately 7:00 pm, Wayzata Police Officer T. Groth received a report of a vehicle that had struck road signs at [ADDRESS REDACTED] E., in the City of Wayzata County of Hennepin. The reporting party stated the vehicle was a gray minivan bearing MN plate number [PLATE REDACTED]. After hitting the signs, the vehicle reportedly continued to 6Smith and parked at [ADDRESS REDACTED] E. Officer Groth observed two signs from the median were now laying in the roadway.
Wayzata Police Officer A. Seeland located the gray minivan, which had damage to the front left consistent with striking the signs. Officer Groth arrived at [ADDRESS REDACTED] E. And ran the registration for plate number [PLATE REDACTED]. The registered owner was identified as Amitava Jundu [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the “Defendant.” Officer Groth then entered 6Smith and inquired if there was a reservation for the Defendant. Officer Groth was taken to his table and asked the Defendant to step outside.
The Defendant admitted that he struck the signs but kept going because he didn’t think he needed to stop unless he hit a person or a vehicle. The Defendant did not show any signs of impairment. After providing his insurance information, the Defendant was advised he could return to the restaurant, but that he would be contacted by mail regarding the charge of leaving the scene of an accident.
