On November 22, 2025, Detective Clayton Evens of the Washington County Sheriff's Office took a report of identity fraud and theft by swindle, from Victim, a known adult. Detective Evens interviewed Victim and learned the following: In October 2022, TREVOR RAUSCHENDORFER, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, contacted Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant and Victim began talking and began a two year online romantic relationship. They never met in person during this time. During those two years, Defendant kept informing Victim that he needed an operable motor vehicle to drive to where the Victim lives in order for them to meet in person.
Victim allowed Defendant to use her Affirm/Thompson motorsports credit card to pay for truck parts he said he needed to make his vehicle operational. Even after purchasing a variety of truck parts, Defendant informed victim [NAME REDACTED] was still inoperable, and he was therefore unable to travel to meet her in person. Defendant did make payment on the Affirm mobile app to pay off the parts he had purchased. Eventually, Defendant came up with a plan for Victim to purchase a new vehicle for him.
Defendant requested that Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Cloud Subaru on June 1, 2024 to purchase a vehicle for him. Defendant stated he would pay Victim [NAME REDACTED]. On June 1, 2024, Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Cloud Subaru and met with Defendant. This was the first and only time they met in person. Defendant informed Victim that instead of paying her back that day as originally planned, he would pay her back in full on June 15, 2024. Upon arrival, Victim [NAME REDACTED] had already test driven a vehicle and had completed approximately 80% of the purchase application.
Victim completed the application and then took out a loan for $36,086.60 from Royal Credit Union to purchase the vehicle, a 2022 Subaru WRX MN Plate # [PLATE REDACTED]. Victim gave the keys to Defendant and he drove away. Victim never saw Defendant or the vehicle in person again. Victim and Defendant continued to communicate via Snapchat for a short time after the purchase. On November 11, 2024, Victim and Defendant were supposed to meet at the Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to pay off the vehicle loan.
Defendant did not show up but informed Victim [NAME REDACTED] had paid off the vehicle loan in full. The loan had not been paid off. The St. Cloud Police Department is investigating this vehicle purchase. On November 17, 2024, Victim, [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant blocked her and all communication ceased. On November 11, 2024, Victim [NAME REDACTED], Experian, and TransUnion credit reports. Victim discovered four credit lines that she had no knowledge of their existence. According to her Experian Credit Report, the four lines of credit were: 1. Affirm Inc/Amazon credit line opened on April 15, 2024, for a total balance of $4898.00. This balance had been paid off. 2. Caine and Weiner (Progressive Insurance) credit line opened on August 5, 2024, with a balance of $262.00. 2 ••-CR-••-•••• Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 12/3/2025 3. Capital One Credit Card opened on June 2, 2024, with a total balance of $9223.00. 4. Synchrony Bank Credit Card opened on May 22, 2024, with a total balance of $2520.00. On January 15, 2025, Detective Evens completed a subpoena to Progressive Insurance for records, application information, account origination date and time, and vehicles and names associated with the account.
