On February 9, 2025 officers from the St. Cloud Police department were dispatched to a 911 calls in the 800 block of 10th Ave South, City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns. Dispatch informed officers they could hear a female yelling that a male busted in the door and took her phone. They could hear a male yell "you always call 911" before the call disconnected and there was no answer back. When officers arrived on scene they observe the trim and part of the exterior door to be broken and the door possibly to be off the hinges.
Officers made contact with S. L. C., an adult female victim [NAME REDACTED] in the police reports. Officers could see S. L. C.'s neck was red. S. L. C. Informed officers Johnathan Ramone Marshall, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, assaulted her and left the residence. S. L. C. Stated she was in the living room and the defendant kept calling her names from a back bedroom. S. L. C. Stated she got upset and threw the tv remote at a wall and it broke. The defendant got upset about the remote and S. L. C. Tried to pick the remote up.
The defendant grabbed S. L. C. By the neck and began choking her from behind. The defendant brought S. L. C. To the ground. S. L. C. Stated she was on the verge of consciousness and may have lost consciousness for about thirty seconds. S. L. C. Stated she was gasping for air. S. L. C. Stated she tried to fight back including biting the defendant's arm while he choked her. S. L. C. Stated the defendant then began packing and S. L. C. Pushed him out of the door to leave. She stated the door broke as she was trying to get the defendant out of the residence.
S. L. C. And the defendant are family or household members. A review of the defendant's criminal history show a prior felony violation of a domestic abuse no contact order in Stearns County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-••••, offense date July 17, 2015, sentenced August 20, 2015 and a gross misdemeanor domestic assault in Benton County District Court File No. 05- CR-17-796, offense date April 27, 2017, convicted October 25, 2018. The defendant's whereabouts are unknown. The State is requesting a body only warrant so that appropriate release conditions may be set including a domestic abuse no contact order.
The defendant is preliminarily eligible for domestic violence. The defendant has a criminal history score of nine making this case a presumptive commit to prison. A Blakely notice will also be filed by the State as the defendant qualifies as a career criminal. The defendants priors include felony threats of violence (2014), felony violation of a domestic abuse no contact order (2015, 2015, 2017), felony domestic assault (2017, 2020, 2022), and felony attempted violation of an order for protection (2019). It should be noted the 2022 domestic assault was also against S. L. C. And that the defendant was just discharged from supervised release on January 18, 2025. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct.
