On October 31, 2025 annual letters requesting photos from predatory offenders were sent from Chaska Police Department to all current registrants in the Chaska jurisdiction. Ahi Alajuwon Montgomery (6-16- 1986), hereinafter Defendant, letter was returned. Defendant is a person who is required to register. An Officer contacted Defendant's phone numbers that were listed on his registration and they were disconnected or belonged to others. An online number search was unsuccessful. Defendant's emergency contact was called and there was no answer or way to leave message.
More specifically, in Marion County Superior Court Criminal File No.49G010410FB192153, State of Indiana, the Defendant was convicted of First Degree Aggravated Robbery for robbing an adult male and an adult female at gunpoint at a dry cleaning establishment. The female was injured in the robbery when the Defendant struck her with his fist when she reached for the alarm button. The Defendant was not known to the victims at the time of the robbery. In part, the charging counts upon which the Defendant was convicted in Indiana included the elements of confining each victim during the robbery without their consent.
Because of this Indiana conviction, the Defendant must register in Minnesota as a predatory offender because the Indiana conviction has the same equivalent value as false imprisonment under Minn. Stat. § 609.255, Subd 2. The Defendant has previously completed Minnesota Predatory Offender Registration paperwork, acknowledging and signing documentation that he knew it was his responsibility to register his primary and secondary addresses five days prior to moving or as soon as possible if Defendant did not have notice of moving.
Defendant has previously provided several change in address forms to retain compliance with his status. On December 17, 2025 Officers went to the primary address listed on his BCA form on Crosstown Boulevard and spoke with S. H. Who stated that Defendant was not there and had not been there since March or June of 2025 and that he had left for Indiana to see people. S. H. Stated she does not have a current phone number for him and they chat over google. Contact was made with Indianapolis police department and there were no recent contacts with Defendant.
Officers requested the MN BCA updated registration packet and observed Defendant had not recently made changes or updates to his primary address, which was still listed in Chaska. Officers learned of an eviction notice for defendant out of Indiana. Officers learned Defendant had a pending eviction case at the address of 3446 N Capitol #5 in Indianapolis. Defendant is not required to register in Indiana. Defendant is a level 1 predatory offender who is listed as non-compliant. Defendant has not resided at his primary address in Chaska since around June 2025 and failed to register changes with the Chaska PD or the MN BCA. 2 10-CR-26-313 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 4/14/2026 Due to his unknown whereabouts and likelihood of being out of state, the State requests this matter issues as a nationwide complaint warrant.
