Between February 1st and 3rd 2026, Stearns County Sheriff's Deputies took reports of three snowboards and a bag containing skis stolen from individuals while they were visiting Powder Ridge located in the Township of Maine Prairie, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota. Each theft was reported to have occurred during the evening of January 31, 2026. Deputies and Powder Ridge staff reviewed surveillance video from January 31, 2026, and observed a male wearing a white hat, camouflage pants, and a camouflage jacket with a Harley Davidson logo on the back.
The male was seen at approximately 6:40 PM picking up three snowboards near the chalet main entrance and walking away. The same male was seen at approximately 6:51 PM carrying a bag then picking up another snowboard before walking away. The snowboards and skis observed in the video had characteristics consistent with those that were reported stolen. Powder Ridge staff reviewed video from earlier in the day and observed the male make a transaction and show his phone to staff at the front desk. Based on the time frame of the transaction, corresponding customer information, and DVS information, the individual was subsequently fully identified as Tristan Michael Tasche, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein.
Deputies spoke with the defendant, who admitted he was at Powder Ridge on January 31, 2026, and had stolen three snowboards and a set of skis. He showed Deputies the jacket he had been wearing, which matched the camouflage jacket seen in the surveillance video. The defendant led Deputies to the snowboards and skis located in the back of a vehicle registered to the defendant. The total estimated value of the stolen property was $2,675.89. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct.
The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on or about the 31st day of January 2026, in the Township of Maine Prairie, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
