On August 27, 2025, officers with the Bloomington Police Department were dispatched to the report of a theft at a retail store at 116 West Market inside the Mall of America, Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers were informed that two known suspects from prior incidents had stolen five jackets, a pair of pants, and three pairs of leggings. The two women had selected items from the shelf, and left with the items passing all points of sale without paying for the merchandise. The stolen property was valued at over $1,300. Mall of America Security informed officers that the two women had placed the stolen items inside a locker at Nickelodeon Universe and were in the food court.
They were then arrested in the food court and fully identified as JAKHYIA DELORIS DAVIS, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, and Co-Defendant D. S. B. Officers recovered the stolen items from the locker. Defendant was arrested but the released due to medical issues. Defendant has previously evaded in custody arrests by claiming medical issues prevented her from being taken to the jail. Pursuant to Rule 6, the State respectfully requests a warrant to ensure the Defendant's appearance, to protect the community, and out of concern related to defendant's extensive criminal history.
Defendant has over twenty open criminal cases in the state of Minnesota, and is pending sentencing on numerous Scott County matters. Defendant has warrant history for failure to appear at hearings. Defendant is also on probation on various cases, and subject to other conditional release orders in open cases that require her to remain law abiding.
