LORENZO ANTHONY TRESHAWN MASHEK, [DOB REDACTED], has the following prior domestic violence convictions in the past ten years. ••-CR-••-••••, Assault 5th Degree, misdemeanor conviction 12/19/2025 ••-CR-••-••••, Assault 5th Degree, misdemeanor conviction 05/15/2025 ••-CR-••-••••, Assault 5th Degree, misdemeanor conviction 5/2/2025 On March 1, 2026, at approximately 8:15 A.M., Metro Transit Officers responded to an assault against a bus operator on a metro transit bus at Selby Avenue & Western Avenue North, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey.
The call comments reported the bus operator was spat on the face and punched in the face with a closed fist. The suspect was described as African American male with short hair, wearing a gray jacket blue hoodie underneath, and worn-out jeans. Bus operator MGR said the suspect boarded the bus at Smith Avenue & Kellogg Boulevard at 8:05 A.M., and was loud and vulgar. When the bus arrived at Selby Avenue and Western, MGR opened the door, and waited to see if the suspect would calm down. The suspect continued his behavior.
MGR walked toward the suspect at the back of the bus and told him to leave the bus. The suspect replied, “Why don’t you sit your ass down.” The suspect spat at him and started to chest bump him. MGR pushed him back. The suspect punched him once on the left side of his face. MGR kicked the suspect one time with his steel-toe boots. MGR’s left eye socket was red and his right nostril had dry blood. MGR said the injuries were from being punched. Passengers on the bus told the officer that the suspect was the main aggressor and MGR did nothing wrong.
One passenger said the suspect pushed MGR first, and MGR pushed him back. Investigator Scheeler reviewed bus video of the incident and reported the video corroborated MGR’s statement, noting, however, that the suspect was on the bus prior to 6th Street and Jackson Street. Images of the suspect were distributed to patrol officers. The suspect was the same suspect as the suspect in a Metro Transit assault case in Minneapolis. In both incidents, the suspect wore the same clothing. Photos of the suspect were sent to Hennepin County CISA. A facial recognition report indicated a possible suspect as MASHEK. MASHEK has a large rose tattoo on the left side of his neck in the same location that the bus video shows the suspect with a large dark spot.
On March 3, 2026, patrol offices located the suspect at University and Berry in Saint Paul. The suspect was identified as MASHEK. MASHEK was wearing the same clothing he wore in the assault in this case- gray jacket and light blue jeans. Sgt. Castro also confirmed MASHEK was the suspect seen on video images on the suspect. An officer showed MASHEK a photo of the suspect from video. MASHEK denied it was him.
