On October 9, 2025, around 7:27 P.M., law enforcement responded to Round Lake Boulevard NW and Main Street NW, Coon Rapids, Anoka County, on a report of damage to property. The reporting party, B. An employee from Dave’s Hot Chicken observed a male with a grey shirt with a logo walking away and suspected it to him. Officers located the male matching the employee's provided description, who ran when he saw officers. The male was identified as Jonathan Alfredo Castro Cumatz [DOB REDACTED], defendant herein. In a search incident to arrest, a rock and some cash, were found in Defendant’s pockets. During an attempted post-Miranda statement, Defendant was unruly, yelling and swearing at officers, and repeatedly kicked the back of the officer's squad car.
Defendant was also intoxicated. Dave’s Hot Chicken surveillance was reviewed, and defendant was seen on surveillance damaging C. N- A.’s vehicle and stealing tip money from inside the restaurant. The estimated cost to repair C. N-A.’s vehicle’s windows and mirrors damaged from the rocks presumably thrown by defendant is $1,680.48. Defendant has a pending felony case in Anoka County for Second-Degree Burglary in ••-CR-••-•••• where he has failed to appear three times during the pendency of that case and in which he is currently in warrant status. He was also ordered on that case to remain law-abiding. The State has concerns for public safety due to Defendant's continuing conduct and does not believe Defendant will respond to a summons complaint. Accordingly, the State requests a body only complaint warrant in this matter and requests that the Defendant be held in custody until appropriate bail can be set pursuant to Minn.
