On or about January 7, 2026 Mille Lacs Tribal Police took a statement from Female-1 regarding two incidents involving alleged criminal behavior by JACOB ROBERT JEFFREY BOYD ([DOB REDACTED]). Female- 1 reported to law enforcement that she was in a married relationship with BOYD and that he had been abusing her for the past six months while they lived together. While collecting the statement, law enforcement observed that Female-1 was extremely upset, crying and shaking while providing information.
Female-1 indicated that BOYD had been acting erratically and staying up late for the past several months. Law enforcement recognized her description as similar to those individuals involved with methamphetamine use. Female-1 indicated that on January 2nd or 3rd, the two of them got into an argument. During that argument, BOYD prevented her from leaving the residence. He grabbed her from behind and tried to drag her back. While doing so, he put his arm around her neck and applied force. Female-1 indicated that she grabbed the banister rail of the stairs to keep from being dragged by BOYD but that he struck her hands in order to make her let go.
While choking her from behind, Female-1 stated that she felt dizzy and her vision began to tunnel into blackness. Once he had forced her to release the banister rail, he used his body weight to get her away from the stairs. Female-1 indicated that during that assault he had also pulled hair from her scalp and she could not move fingers on one hand from being struck. She stated that BOYD threatened her and indicated that she better not call the police as he would take any case to trial and win. On January 7, 2026, the morning of her statement, Female-1 gathered up her belongings as she had found an alternative place to live and was planning on leaving BOYD. BOYD confronted her and made threatening statements about her leaving.
She indicated that he made several jumps with his body in order to make her flinch and followed her around the house while threatening her. BOYD continued to grow upset and told her that he would 'f****** kill her'. Female-1 indicated that she had a friend on the phone with her throughout this incident for safety. When the call failed for unknown reasons, she became frightened. Female-1 stated that he followed her out to the car as she put her belongings into it. She threatened to call the police and he laughed at her.
She was able to leave the residence. BOYD was convicted of Misdemeanor Assault in the Fifth Degree on May 16, 2012 in Mille Lacs County Court File No. 48-CR-12-296. 3 48-CR-26-33 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 1/8/2026 PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
