04/26/1977 (48), violated the law as set forth herein. On February 6, 2026, at approximately 7:37 PM, Alexandria Police Department officers responded to a domestic assault that occurred earlier that evening at 909 6th Avenue East, Alexandria, Douglas County, Minnesota. It was initially reported that Leeanne Eklund had been assaulted by Len Worthington (“the Defendant”). It was then reported that the Defendant was at a neighboring residence where the victim had taken refuge and things were escalating.
Upon arrival, Sergeant Rosha encountered the Defendant coming out of the residence. As he opened the door, he yelled out, “F****** kill me, m***********.” The Defendant was holding a large knife in his hand and advanced towards Sgt. Rosha, causing him to fear for his safety, as the Defendant was close enough to reach Sgt. Rosha with the knife. Sgt. Rosha retreated and initially drew his department-issued handgun until he created further space between them. He then drew his taser and gave verbal commands to drop the knife.
Officer Pexsa arrived to assist, and the Defendant eventually put the knife down but attempted to re-enter the residence. Officers were able to restrain the Defendant and place him under arrest. As they were escorting him to the squad car, the Defendant kicked Sgt. Rosha in the leg on two occasions. Off. Pexsa spoke with the victim, [NAME REDACTED], and observed she had blood on her lips and a large area of swelling on her forehead. She reported that she and the Defendant had been arguing about his drinking when he called her a c***, and she swatted at him and said not to call her that.
The Defendant then blew up and held her down on the floor. He covered her nose and mouth with his hand for approximately 10 to 15 seconds, during which time she could not breathe. He then beat her, causing her visible physical injuries. She was afraid she was going to die. During the assault, when he was restricting her breathing, the Defendant said, “You can’t breathe, can you; I could kill you.” Leeanne said she and the Defendant are engaged and have been together for about two years. When the Defendant wasn’t looking, Leeanne was able to escape to the downstairs unit of the residence and take refuge with neighbors, Julie Fries and Glenn Fries.
They locked the door, but the Defendant followed and broke into the residence by forcing the door open. Glenn reported that he and the Defendant then “got into it” when the Defendant got into his face and attacked him by putting hands on him. Glenn was fearful of being injured due to the Defendant’s behavior and actions. The Defendant was transported to the Douglas County Jail, where he appeared to show signs of a seizure. Once out of the seizure episode, he began spitting towards correctional officers, saying he was upset at the queen.
