On the evening of November 23, 2025, Officers from the Princeton Police Department responded to Pizza Pub at [ADDRESS REDACTED] N, Princeton, Mille Lacs County regarding an altercation. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Defendant RICARDO SANTOS SERRANO [DOB REDACTED] who stated that he, his roommate D. R. C., and his roommate’s son D. A. A. R., all adult males fully identified in police reports, had been at the Pizza Pub. He stated that when they got home, D. R. C. And D. A. A. R. Jumped him and punched him because of some money he owed them.
Defendant sustained injuries to his left elbow and the back of his head. Defendant was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Shortly after midnight on November 24, 2025, Officers located D. R. C. And D. A. A. R. At their residence on 7th Avenue North in Princeton, Mille Lacs County. D. R. C. Answered the door, and Officers observed severe and obvious injuries to his face and eye area which were still actively bleeding. They learned that D. R. C. And D. A. A. R. Reside at this location, and Defendant sometimes stays temporarily with them.
D. R. C. Is D. A. A. R.’s uncle, and Defendant is not related to either of them. D. R. C. Stated they had gone to Pizza Pub earlier that evening. Defendant had wanted to stay and drink, but D. R. C. Said he had to go home and go to sleep because he had to work in the morning. When they got home, Defendant wanted D. R. C. To stay outside and smoke weed with him, but D. R. C. Again told him he had to work in the morning. D. R. C. Reached out to him to pull him inside, and Defendant then began punching D. R. C. D. R. C. Was struck in the left side of his face, causing him to temporarily lose his vision.
D. R. C. Put his hands up to protect his face and block Defendant’s punches, causing injuries to D. R. C.’s right hand. He tried to defend himself by pushing Defendant, but wasn’t sure how Defendant got injured because he couldn’t see anything. D. R. C. Was evaluated by medical personnel on scene but declined transportation by ambulance to the hospital as he was concerned about missing work the next day; he was subsequently transported to the hospital by D. A. A. R. On November 25, 2025, Officer L. Hanson took statements from both individuals regarding the incident.
D. R. C. Gave a statement consistent with what he had said the night before. D. A. A. R. Stated they had gone to the Pizza Pub to eat, but Defendant was drinking excessively. Since D. R. C. Had to go to work the next day, they needed to leave, but Defendant kept delaying and D. A. A. R. Felt he was trying to provoke them. When they got home, Defendant continued to be provocative, saying rude and demeaning things to D. R. C., and Defendant eventually started taking swings at him. Officer Hanson also asked about D. R. C.’s injuries, since he had sought medical treatment at the hospital the night before.
D. R. C. Stated he had a broken bone in his hand. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 609.49., intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
