On or about March 26, 2026, at approximately 2:08 A.M., a deputy with the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on 410th Street, in Isle, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota, on a report of a disturbance. Dispatch advised the deputy that a female party was running away from a male. Dispatch advised the male was identified as TYLER VINCENT KOHN (D. O. B. 07/29/1991), and the female party was identified as Female-1, an adult female fully identified in police reports. Dispatch advised that Female- 1 was crying and feeling threatened.
The deputy arrived and located Female-1 near the entrance to a gravel pit. As the deputy approached Female-1, he observed Female-1 to be sniffling, had red eyes, and appeared to be crying. Female-1 advised that she had been staying at her mother’s residence, and that KOHN had ridden toward the residence on a bicycle. Female-1 reported that KOHN had been staying at the residence but was not supposed to be. Female-1 stated that her and KOHN were previously in a relationship, engaged, and had a child in common.
Female-1 stated that the couple had ended their relationship approximately one week prior. Female-1 stated that on KOHN’s near-arrival to the residence on the roadway, he had “flagged down” Female-1. Female-1 stated that she stopped her vehicle, and KOHN placed his bicycle in the back of her vehicle. Female-1 reported that KOHN then got into the vehicle and instructed her to drive to a gravel pit. Female-1 stated that she drove to the gravel pit, and that she felt compelled to drive due to KOHN refusing to get out of the vehicle.
Female-1 reported that upon their arrival to the gravel pit, which Female-1 described as “secluded,” KOHN instructed Female-1 to turn the vehicle’s lights off. Female-1 obliged, and Female-1 stated that KOHN began yelling at her and threatened to kill her. Female- 1 stated that KOHN and her were arguing, and KOHN specifically stated “I’ll kill you if you’re f****** lying to me.” Female-1 also stated KOHN threatened to “beat me up.” Female-1 reported pleading with KOHN that she was not lying and was telling the truth, and KOHN continued screaming at her.
Female-1 reported being fearful that KOHN would harm her, as she has not reported prior incidents involving abuse from KOHN. Female-1 stated that she then quickly exited the vehicle, and began running and screaming away from the vehicle. Female-1 stated that KOHN exited the vehicle and began chasing after her. Female-1 stated that KOHN stopped chasing her when she pulled out her cell phone and called 911. Female-1 stated she continued running until she found a residence with its light on, which appeared to the deputy to be approximately one quarter of a mile away from the pit.
The deputy issued a KOPS alert on KOHN for domestic assault. KOHN was not located. The following day, March 27, 2026, Female-2, an adult female fully identified in police reports, reported to the Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department that KOHN had stolen a set of vehicle keys. Female-2 is Female- 1’s mother. An officer with the Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department responded to Moose Drive to speak with Female-2. Female-2 reported that she had loaned the vehicle, a Dodge Durango, to Female-1 while Female-1’s vehicle was being repaired.
