SW said he locked the Jeep’s door, did not let WASHINGTON get in, and drove away. SW added that WASHINGTON had left his phone at the first Walgreens. SW also said that after the incident at the second Walgreens he called WASHINGTON's brother and told him that WASHINGTON may have committed a crime. WASHINGTON’s brother, TH, provided police WASHINGTON's name. TH also said that WASHINGTON was supposed to be on probation and was not supposed to be committing crimes. 4 62-CR-26-2554 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 4/15/2026 Police then learned that WASHINGTON was trying to get into his sister's apartment at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. As they responded there, they spotted WASHINGTON at 976 7th St. An officer got out of a squad, walked toward WASHINGTON, and told him to come talk.
WASHINGTON immediately fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended. During a search incident to arrest, police found a yellow and black can of “Maximum Strength Pepper Spray” in his front right pocket. WASHINGTON declined a formal interview. For purposes of Rule 6.02, WASHINGTON has at least one active warrant and his felony conviction history includes Possess Ammo/Any Firearm - Crime of Violence (62-CR-21-5912).
