On November 9, 2025, at approximately 5:31 P.M., Wright County Deputy Olson was on patrol when he was dispatched to a check welfare call at the Paradigm Services group home, [ADDRESS REDACTED], Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota. The caller reported loud banging in the driveway of the facility. While enroute, an employee from the group home, MLM, also called reporting that a resident, Victor Sasha Cantu, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the defendant, had heavily damaged two employee's vehicles. Upon arrival of deputies, all residents were confirmed out of the home and loud banging could be heard coming from inside.
A short time later, the defendant exited the home through the garage carrying a tire iron. He was placed at taser point and was given verbal commands to drop the tire iron, to which he complied, and was subsequently taken into custody. One of his arms was covered in a white powder which appeared to be sheetrock dust. Dep. Olson observed damage to two personal vehicles; several windows were broken out, numerous moderate sized dents and scratches were made, and headlights were broken out. The ground was littered with debris and glass from vehicle windows, and a broken crock pot was also located which was identified as belonging to the Paradigm facility.
Value of all damages is believed to exceed well over $1,000. According to MLM, the defendant is diagnosed schizophrenic, has fetal alcohol syndrome, as well as reactive attachment disorder. He has been refusing to take his medications for approximately two weeks. Dep. Olson entered the residence to assess any damage which occurred inside and observed several holes in the wall of the defendant’s bedroom.
