On May 3, 2026, at approximately 11:15 P.M., police responded to the Midway Motel, [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Dispatch comments indicated that a male was refusing to leave and arguing with motel staff. Upon arrival, the complainant reported that the suspect was not a tenant, was knocking on several doors, and tried to pay for a room he did not rent out. Staff requested to have the suspect leave the motel and be trespassed. While speaking with staff, police observed the suspect and detained him.
Police informed the suspect that staff wanted him trespassed from the property. The suspect was hesitant to speak with police and asked if he could speak with staff about the situation. The suspect was informed staff made their decision then police asked for his identification. The suspect gave police the name of NNN with various dates of birth. Police were unable to locate the name until the suspect finally provided the correct date of birth. Police repeatedly told the suspect that providing a false name was a crime, but the suspect was insistent that his name was NNN. Police eventually received the results for the name provided by the suspect, but they were hesitant based on the photograph.
Police again gave the suspect an opportunity to provide his correct name, and he responded that he did. Police used an IBIS to check the suspect’s identity, and he was identified as CHRISTIAN BRYAN KASOR – [DOB REDACTED]. Police also discovered that he was reported to be a non-compliant predatory offender. KASOR is required to register as a predatory offender with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension due to a juvenile adjudication for First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct in Hennepin County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-••••. KASOR was taken into custody.
In a search incident to arrest, police located loose and burnt tinfoil and a small clear container with a metal locket that contained suspected narcotics inside the pocket of KASOR’s shorts. Following a Miranda advisory, KASOR told police that he got the narcotics from a male named “Larry Law” at a house near the motel. When asked why he gave a false name when he knew he was a predatory offender, KASOR responded that he was scared, and it was his first time out in a while. KASOR told police that the false name he gave police was that of his “foster cousin”. Presumptive testing on the suspected narcotics recovered from KASOR’s pocket yielded a positive result for methamphetamine and fentanyl with a net weight of 0.50 grams.
The following information is offered for purposes of Rule 6.02.
