On July 11, 2025, at 2306 hours, Deputy Wild, with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, stopped a 2025 Hyundai for traveling without operational taillights, lane violations, and swerving within the lanes. The stop occurred near Jessie and Maryland, St. Paul, Ramsey County. The deputy identified the driver as Jordan Coleman, [DOB REDACTED]. The deputy detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and noted that Coleman exhibited signs of impairment. The passenger in the vehicle, Drevon Khari Williams, [DOB REDACTED], fled on foot shortly after deputies identified him.
Deputies had information that Williams was unlawfully in possession of a Glock handgun with a red dot site. Deputies searched the vehicle and recovered a tan and black Glock pistol with an extended magazine and a Holosun red dot site. In a post-Miranda interview, Coleman said that Williams hid the gun under the driver’s seat. On July 17, 2025, Dakota County deputies arrested Williams pursuant to a KOPS alert. In a post-Miranda interview, Williams denied possession of the firearm on July 11, 2025. Deputies obtained a sample of Williams’ DNA to compare to swabs taken from the firearm.
On September 8, 2025, The BCA Laboratory issued a report concluding that Williams’ DNA profile was included in the mixture of DNA found on the gun. Williams has a prior conviction for Possession of a Pistol without a Permit on September 15, 2022, in Dakota County File 19SCR222263. Williams does not have a permit to carry a firearm.
