On June 12, 2025, Lino Lakes Police met with A. J. Regarding a theft complaint. A. J. Resides in Lino Lakes but owns a second residence in Hinckley. In July 2024, A. J. Entered a contract with Defendant Ryan David Pietron ([DOB REDACTED]), who owns Affordable Home Remodeling LLC, to replace the Hinckley property's siding, windows, and doors. The agreed price was $50,000, with $30,000 paid up front in order to purchase materials. While at his Lino Lakes residence, A. J. Wrote Defendant a check for $30,000, which Defendant immediately deposited and then distributed to a number of personal accounts.
Since that date, no work had been completed on the property at all, and Defendant either failed to respond or responded with excuses when A. J. Asked for updates. On one occasion, A. J. Demanded to see proof that the materials had been purchased, and Defendant provided an invoice that purported to be for the property, but investigation revealed that Defendant had used white-out on an unrelated invoice and sent that to A. J. Towards the end of A. J.'s communications with Defendant, Defendant apologized and offered to refund A. J. His money minus a 30% restocking fee.
However, that never occurred, and to date A. J. Has not received any refund of the $30,000 he paid. Further investigation showed that Defendant was already the subject of numerous related lawsuits for agreeing to perform work, demanding partial payment upfront, and then never completing the work. This includes four pending civil cases (••-CR-••-••••; ••-CR-••-••••; ••-CR-••-••••; and ••-CR-••-••••) and a criminal case in Wright County with substantially similar allegations (••-CR-••-••••).
