On March 30, 2026 Victim 1, an adult female, contacted the Faribault Police Department to report that her ex-boyfriend Nicholas Martin Thul [DOB REDACTED] (Defendant) had been harassing her. When she arrived home that evening (March 30, 2026) Thul's blue Dodge Ram was outside of her residence in Faribault. He accelerated and began to tail her. He then tried to hit her vehicle and screamed "bitch" at her. Victim 1 drove to her brother's residence. Her child was in the backseat of her vehicle crying.
Victim 1's brother also spoke to law enforcement and reported that they were fearful for Victim 1 and wanted to keep her safe from Defendant. Victim 1's brother confronted Defendant who initially stated that Victim 1 owed him money, but then said that he "loves her and wants her for his whole life." Victim 1 stated that this is not the first time Defendant has tried to hit her with his vehicle. On March 24, 2026 in Faribault, while leaving her brother's residence, Defendant attempted to hit her with a different car he owns, a silver Cadillac Escalade.
Victim 1 was able to maneuver her vehicle so that Defendant did not strike her vehicle hard. A Faribault Officer observed silver paint transfer on Victim 1's vehicle. Victim 1 reported that Defendant follows her in those vehicles and that he lives 50 minutes away in Mapleton. An Officer with the Faribault Police Department confirmed that city cameras located Defendant's vehicles in Faribault in the locations and at the times that Victim 1 reported she had been followed. Victim 1 was incredibly upset and felt that Defendant was going to kill her.
Defendant has a conviction for GM stalking in file 07-CR-19-2344 The State respectfully requests a body only warrant issue for Defendant's arrest.
