On April 7, 2026 around 7:26 P.M. Chaska Officers responded to the Super 8 motel in Chaska, Carver County, on report of a possible domestic assault. S. M. Had reported that Jonathan William Strobel (8-6- 1996), hereinafter Defendant, had been fighting with another female. Upon arrival and male and female were standing in the north exit of the motel. Officers approached and asked if he was Jonathan and the male stated no. He then said he was "Jonathan, what's up". The male Defendant was digging with his arm near his buttocks area.
The Officer attempted to grab his arm and ask what he was going. The male quickly with his right arm threw something into the parking lot. Defendant was frisked for weapons and detained with handcuffs. The substance Defendant threw field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 1.28 grams. Officers determined no prior assault occurred. Defendant was placed in the squad car and began kicking. En route to the jail Defendant stated he had ingested drugs and did not feel well. Officers transported Defendant to 212 Medical Center.
At the hospital Defendant stated he had been in prison for past 8 years. Defendant stated he had looked at the container in the parking lot and saw it was not enough drugs for him to get high on. Defendant stated he had obtained meth from the guy next door, the smallest you can buy and that he shot it up together. Later at the hospital Defendant fled the hospital room prior to being medically cleared. He went running east through the parking lot and taken back into custody. Defendant was later medically cleared for transport.
The reporting party indicated she had received a call from Defendant with screaming and yelling in the background and was concerned. Defendant had told her of IV methamphetamine use and buying drugs. Defendant is on DOC parole and the Super 8 room is paid for by DOC and Defendant is not to have guests. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49., intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
