On April 5, 2025, at approximately 12:03 A.M., Deputy Troen was traveling westbound on County Road 115, when he observed two vehicles traveling eastbound in a 45 mph zone. The first vehicle was a flatbed truck, and the second vehicle was a truck following closely behind. Deputy Troen activated his radar which showed a reading of 56 mph. Deputy Troen watched in his driver's side mirror as the trucks passed and observed the second truck to go over the fog line. Deputy Troen turned around and caught up to the truck bearing Minnesota License JBB835 that was now traveling 39 mph in a 30 mph zone.
Deputy Troen conducted a traffic stop in the 23000 block of County Road 7, City of St. Augusta, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota. Deputy Troen made contact with the driver who was identified by his Minnesota License as Christopher John Ehrlichman, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. While Deputy Troen was speaking to the defendant he observed him to have slurred speech. The defendant denied drinking and when asked for proof of insurance, had difficulty retrieving it from inside his wallet.
Deputy Troen had the defendant complete field sobriety testing showing additional indicators of impairment. The defendant was placed under arrest. At 1:33 A.M., the defendant submitted to a DataMaster breath test, resulting in an alcohol concentration of.18. A review of the defendant's criminal history revealed a prior conviction for Driving Under the Influence on October 23, 2017, in Stearns County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-••••. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct.
The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on or about the 5th day of April, 2025, in the City of St. Augusta, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
