On or about September 24, 2025 at approximately 4:05 P.M., Woodbury officers were working a retail enforcement shift outside of Nordstrom Rack City Place, [ADDRESS REDACTED], Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota. While there, they observed a vehicle parked in the lot bearing MN plate SET985. The registered owner was familiar with law enforcement having been involved in previous thefts. Shortly after seeing the vehicle leave, the officers stopped the vehicle believing it had an equipment violation.
A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Nathan Marcos Martez Munoz (defendant), [DOB REDACTED]. When the officers conducted the stop and identified defendant, they learned his driving privileges had been revoked. When officers asked him to step out of the vehicle, a small clear baggy was tucked next to the seat rail at the floor of the driver's side. In that baggie officers saw it contained a white crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine. Defendant was then placed under arrest.
The baggie was then secured, and the substance preliminarily tested positive for 1 gram of methamphetamine. Later after being read his Miranda warning, he admitted he had relapsed and committed thefts. Defendant has a prior fifth-degree possession conviction from 2021 and theft related convictions and possession of ammunition/firearm by an ineligible person. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
