On 11-01-2025, at approximately 11:26 am, law enforcement was dispatched to a report about a domestic assault at a hotel located on the 6400 block of James Circle North, City of Brooklyn Center, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota. Upon arrival, law enforcement encountered a female, Victim herein, who reported that her boyfriend/child’s father, identified as JUSTIN DAVID CASEY [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, grabbed her by the throat with both hands and slammed her against a wall. Law enforcement reviewed surveillance footage that captured the incident.
Video footage shows Defendant and Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant is walking in front of Victim while they go up the stairs when he abruptly turns around, goes down the stairs, and grabs Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant is observed with both his hands around Victim’s throat when he slams her against the wall behind her. Defendant appears to place weight on Victim’s throat while pinning her to the wall and yelling in her face. Victim appears to be struggling to breathe, as her face turns red. Victim is observed struggling to get Defendant off of her.
After Defendant let’s go of Victim’s neck, she can be seen grabbing her throat and bend over as if she is trying to catch her breath. Law enforcement observed redness and minor abrasions on Victim’s neck and left ear. Victim told law enforcement that when Defendant grabbed her by the neck she became fearful and scared for her life. Law enforcement made contact with Defendant. He was arrested and remains in custody.
